How many months of summer vacation do secondary school teachers get?
According to Clause 1, Article 3 of Decree 84/2020/ND-CP regulating the summer vacation time of educators as follows:
- Summer vacation time of educators:
+ The annual summer vacation time for teachers of preschool education institutions, general education institutions, and specialized schools is 08 weeks, including annual leave;
+ The annual summer vacation time for teachers of intermediate schools and lecturers of colleges is 06 weeks, including annual leave;
+ The annual summer vacation time for lecturers of higher education institutions is implemented according to the organization and operation regulations of the higher education institution;
+ In case of emergency, disaster prevention, epidemic control, or urgent circumstances, the summer vacation time of educators in preschool education institutions, general education institutions, specialized schools, intermediate schools, and colleges is decided by the Minister of Education and Training, the Minister of Labor - War Invalids and Social Affairs according to their authority.
- Besides the summer vacation time regulated in Clause 1 of this Article, teachers and lecturers are entitled to holiday leaves, Tet holiday, and other days off according to the provisions of the Labor Code.
- Based on the school year time plan issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and specific conditions of the locality, the Chairman of the People's Committee of provinces, centrally run cities (hereinafter referred to as provincial People's Committee) decides on the summer vacation timing for teachers in preschool, general education institutions, and specialized schools in the locality.
