How long after graduating from high school will you receive an official diploma?
According to Article 17 of Circular 21/2019/TT-BGDDT, the time limit for issuing diplomas and certificates is stipulated as follows:
- The authorized person as specified in Clause 1, Article 15 of this Regulation is responsible for issuing diplomas to students within the following time limits:
a) 75 days from the date of the decision to recognize the graduation of lower secondary school or upper secondary school;
b) 30 days from the date of the decision to recognize the graduation of pedagogical college or university;
c) 30 days from the date of the decision to recognize the graduation and issuance of a master's degree;
d) 30 days from the date of the decision to recognize the academic title of doctorate and issuance of a doctoral degree.
- The authorized person as specified in Clause 2, Article 15 of this Regulation is responsible for issuing certificates to students no later than 30 days from the end of the training, advanced education, or professional training course, or from the date of the certificate exam.
Based on the current regulations, 75 days from the date of the decision to recognize high school graduation, the student will be issued an official diploma.
What are the procedures for reissuing a high school diploma?
According to Clause 1, Article 18 of Circular 21/2019/TT-BGDDT, the procedures for reissuing diplomas and certificates are stipulated as follows:
- The procedures for reissuing diplomas and certificates are as follows:
a) The individual requesting reissuance of a diploma or certificate must send directly or via postal service to the competent authority for reissuing, a dossier including: an application for reissuance of a diploma or certificate; the original diploma or certificate to be reissued; documents proving that the competent authority issued the wrong diploma or certificate;
b) Within 5 working days from the date of receiving a complete and valid dossier, the competent authority for reissuing must review and decide on the reissuance of the diploma or certificate; if not reissuing, they must provide a written response stating the reasons;
c) If the form of the diploma or certificate has changed by the time of reissuance, the competent authority for reissuing must use the current form to issue the reissued diploma or certificate.
