What are guidelines on naming a private tutoring business households in Vietnam in 2025?
Based on Article 6 of Circular 29/2024/TT-BGDDT regulating supplemental teaching and learning outside of school settings:
Article 6. Supplemental Teaching and Learning outside Schools
- Any organization or individual conducting supplemental teaching and learning activities outside schools that charge students (hereinafter referred to as supplemental teaching facilities) must comply with the following requirements:
a) Register for business as stipulated by law;
b) Publicly announce on an electronic information portal or post information at the headquarters of the supplemental teaching facility regarding the subjects offered, the duration of supplemental teaching for each subject by grade, location, form, and time of supplemental teaching and learning organization, the list of teaching individuals and the fee for supplemental learning prior to enrolling classes (according to Form No. 02 attached to this Circular).
- Individuals providing supplemental teaching outside of schools must ensure they have good moral character and appropriate professional competence for the subject they intend to teach.
- Teachers currently teaching in schools participating in supplemental teaching outside of school must report to the Principal or Director or the person responsible for the school (hereinafter referred to as the Principal) on the subject, location, form, and time of participating in supplemental teaching (according to Form No. 03 attached to this Circular).
Based on Article 88 of Decree 01/2021/ND-CP regulating the naming of business households:
Article 88. Naming Business Households
- A business household must have a distinct name. The name of a business household consists of two components in the following order:
a) The phrase "Household Business";
b) The distinct name of the business household.
The distinct name can include letters from the Vietnamese alphabet, letters F, J, Z, W, and may be accompanied by numerals or symbols.
- It is prohibited to use words or symbols that violate historical, cultural, ethical traditions, and national customs when naming a business household.

According to the above regulations, any organization or individual conducting supplemental teaching and learning activities outside of school that charge students must register for business and meet the conditions prescribed by law.
Thus, the naming of a supplemental teaching business household is as follows:
- A business household must have a distinct name. The name consists of two components in the following order:
+ The phrase "Household Business";
+ The distinct name of the business household.
+ The distinct name can include letters from the Vietnamese alphabet, letters F, J, Z, W, and may be accompanied by numerals or symbols.
- Words, symbols that violate historical, cultural, ethical traditions, and national customs must not be used in naming a business household.
- A business household must not use the phrases "company" or "enterprise" in its name.
- The distinct name of a business household must not duplicate the name of another registered business household within the district.

What documents are included in the Application for business registration in Vietnam?
Based on Article 87 of Decree 01/2021/ND-CP specifying the contents of an Application for business registration:
- Application for business household registration
- Legal documents concerning the individual of the business household owner, family household members registering the business household in the event of family household members registering a business household
- A copy of the resolution of the household members' meeting regarding the establishment of the business household in the event of family household members registering a business household
- A copy of a written authorization from household members to one member as the owner of the business household in cases where family household members register a business household.
Are public school teachers allowed to tutoring outside of schools in Vietnam?
Based on Article 4 of Circular 29/2024/TT-BGDDT regulating cases where supplemental teaching and organization are not permitted:
Article 4. Cases Where Supplemental Teaching and Organization Are Not Permitted
- Supplemental teaching is not permitted for elementary students, except in cases of training in arts, sports, and life skills.
- Teachers currently teaching in schools are not permitted to tutor outside of school for students whom they are currently assigned to teach based on the school's education plan.
- Teachers from public schools are not allowed to manage or operate supplemental teaching outside of school, but they may participate in tutoring outside of school.
Therefore, teachers from public schools may participate in tutoring outside of school but are not allowed to manage or operate such tutoring activities.
