Evaluation of the Master's Thesis Defense: Is a Third Assessment Permissible?
According to Clauses 5 and 6 of Article 9 of the Master's Degree Admission and Training Regulations issued together with Circular 23/2021/TT-BGDDT (Effective from October 15, 2021) regarding thesis evaluation, it states:
- The thesis score is the average score given by the members of the evaluation committee present during the thesis evaluation session on a scale of 10; it is considered passing if it is greater than or equal to 5.5 points.
- In case the thesis does not meet the requirements, the student is allowed to revise and supplement the thesis for a second evaluation within 03 months from the date of the first evaluation committee meeting; there is no third thesis evaluation session.
Thus, according to the regulations, a master's thesis is only allowed a second evaluation if it does not meet the requirements in the first evaluation. There is no third evaluation of the thesis.
Sincerely!
