Duration of Doctoral Training
According to Clauses 1 and 2, Article 3 of the Regulation on Admission and Training for Doctoral Programs promulgated in conjunction with Circular 18/2021/TT-BGDDT (effective from August 15, 2021), which stipulates the duration and form of training, therein:
- The standard duration for doctoral programs ranges from 03 years (36 months) to 04 years (48 months), as decided by the training institution, ensuring that the majority of doctoral candidates complete the program within this period; each doctoral candidate has a comprehensive study and research plan within the approved standard training duration, attached to the decision recognizing the doctoral candidate (as per the template in Appendix I).
- Doctoral candidates are permitted to complete the program earlier than their comprehensive study and research plan by no more than 01 year (12 months) or later than their comprehensive study and research plan, but the total training duration must not exceed 06 years (72 months) from the date the decision recognizing the doctoral candidate comes into effect to the time of completing the procedures for submitting the dissertation to the training institution, before undergoing the independent review process and forming the Dissertation Evaluation Council of the training institution.
Respectfully!
