Do Ethnic Minority Students Studying in Urban Areas Receive Additional University Admission Points?
According to Point b Clause 1 Article 7 of the Regulation on university admission; admission to college-level early childhood education issued together with Circular 09/2020/TT-BGDDT, the policy on priority according to the subject is stipulated as follows:
Priority Group 2 (UT2) includes the following subjects:
Subject 06:
+ Vietnamese citizens who are ethnic minorities and have permanent residence outside the areas specified under Subject 01; (Reference Subject 01: Vietnamese citizens who are ethnic minorities with permanent residence (during high school or intermediate study) over 18 months in Area 1 specified in Point c Clause 4 of this Article)
+ Children of war invalids, children of sick soldiers, children of those who enjoy policies like war invalids with a labor capacity decrease of less than 81%;
+ Children of resistance activists infected with chemical toxins with a labor capacity decrease of less than 81%;

Thus, if you are an ethnic minority with permanent residence in HCM, you will be granted an extra university admission point of 01 (Clause 5 Article 7 of this Circular).
