Pursuant to Article 36 of Regulation of high school graduation exam issued togeter with the Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT stipulating exemption from all papers of the exam:

Exemption from all papers of the exam

1. A person chosen to become a member in the national team for the International or Regional Olympiad of academic subject shall be exempt from all papers of the high school graduation examination if he/she:

a) is chosen in the second semester of 12th grade;

b) has his/her conduct classified as Good and academic performance classified as Good or above in the 12th grade; and

c) is named in a list of exemption of the MOET.

2. A person chosen to become a member in the national team for the International or Regional Olympiad of engineering or arts shall be exempt from all papers of the high school graduation examination if he/she:

a) is chosen in the second semester of 12th grade;

b) has his/her conduct classified as Average and academic performance classified as Average or above in the 12th grade; and

c) is named in an official dispatch on request for exemption and confirmation of training and taking test made by the recruiter sent to the DET before the date of high school graduation exam.

As regulated above, candidates taking the entrance exam of Ho Chi Minh City National University are not eligible for exemption from all papers of the exam in the high school graduation exam in 2024 in Vietnam.

However, they are eligible for exemption from all papers of the exam in the high school graduation exam in 2024 in Vietnam in following cases:

[1] A person chosen to become a member in the national team for the International or Regional Olympiad of academic subject shall be exempt from all papers of the high school graduation examination if he/she:

- is chosen in the second semester of 12th grade;

- has his/her conduct classified as Good and academic performance classified as Good or above in the 12th grade; and

- is named in a list of exemption of the MOET.

[2] A person chosen to become a member in the national team for the International or Regional Olympiad of engineering or arts shall be exempt from all papers of the high school graduation examination if he/she:

- is chosen in the second semester of 12th grade;

- has his/her conduct classified as Average and academic performance classified as Average or above in the 12th grade; and

- is named in an official dispatch on request for exemption and confirmation of training and taking test made by the recruiter sent to the DET before the date of high school graduation exam.

[3] People suffering from extremely severe disabilities and severe disabilities must satisfy the following requirements:

- They must finish the high school program

- They must meet the requirements to take the high school graduation exam in 2024;

- They have the certificate of disability issued by the competent authority;

[4] Disabled students who do not meet the requirements of the general education program must satisfy the following requirements:

- They shall have the certificate of the implementation of the individual education plan each year at high school level approved by the headmaster of the school at which they studied; 

- They shall have the certificate of disability issued by a competent authority;

[5] Candidates who are revolutionary activists and children of revolutionary activists infected with chemical toxins must satisfy the following requirements:

- They must finish the high school program

- They must meet the requirements to take the high school graduation exam in 2024;

- They must have the certificate of infection with chemical toxins with the working capacity loss from 61% and above issued by a competent authority.

What items are banned from bringing in the exam rooms of the high school graduation exam in 2024 in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Clause 4 Article 14 of Regulation of high school graduation exam issued togeter with the Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT (amended by Clause 6 Article 1 of the Circular 02/2024/TT-BGDDT) stipulating responsibilities of students:

4. Candidates must comply with the following regulations in the examination room:

a) Present the examination card for identification; sit in the designated seat with the assigned candidate number.

b) For the purpose of the examination, candidates are allowed to bring the following items into the examination room: pens, rulers, pencils, erasers, compasses, graph drawing rulers, drawing tools, handheld calculators without text editing functions and memory cards; "Atlas of Vietnam Geography" compiled according to the 2006 General Education Program (without any additional markings or writings).

Prohibited items in the examination room: carbon paper, correction fluid, alcoholic beverages; weapons and explosive or flammable substances; materials, devices for transmitting information (receiving, broadcasting information, recording, filming) or containing information for cheating during the examination.

c) Before starting the exam, candidates must write their assigned candidate number and personal information on the exam paper, answer sheet, draft paper, and scratch paper. What is the bonus point for Group-3 students for high school graduation assessment in 2024 in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Article 39 of Regulation of high school graduation exam issued togeter with the Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT (amended by Clause 6 Article 1 of the Circular 06/2023/TT-BGDDT) stipulating responsibilities of students:

Bonus points

1. The bonus points policy is applied to three groups of candidates, in which Group 1 consists of normal candidates with no bonus points. Candidates in Group 2 and 3 shall receive the amount of bonus points as follows:

a) Continuing education candidates who are war invalids, sick soldiers, those receiving the same benefits as war invalids, sick soldiers with the degree of impairment under 81%;

- Ethnic minorities with a permanent residence during high school for at least 3 years in following types of communes, or they have attended boarding ethnic general schools or general schools not located in districts of centrally affiliated cities:

+ Extremely disadvantaged communes, border communes, former revolution bases;

+ Extremely disadvantaged communes in coastal areas and islands;

+ Communes in Zones I, II, III, communes with extremely disadvantaged villages in ethnic minority areas and mountainous areas;

- Continuing education candidates who are war invalids, sick soldiers; those who are receiving the same benefits as war invalids, sick soldiers with the degree of impairment from 81% and above;

- Children of war invalids, sick soldiers; those who are receiving the same benefits as war invalids, sick soldiers with the degree of impairment from 81% and above.
