Conditions to be an Average Student (Newest)
Pursuant to Clause 3, Article 13 of the Regulation on the Assessment and Classification of Secondary School Students and High School Students issued together with Circular 58/2011/TT-BGDDT and Clause 6, Article 2 of Circular 26/2020/TT-BGDDT regarding the standards for the classification of semester and academic year, it is stipulated that:
Average grade, if meeting the following criteria:
a) The average score of all subjects is 5.0 or higher, in which the average score of one of the three subjects (Math, Literature, Foreign Language) is 5.0 or higher; for students of specialized classes in specialized high schools, an additional condition is the average score of the specialized subject must be 5.0 or higher;
b) No subject has an average score below 3.5;
c) Subjects evaluated by comments must achieve grade D.

Therefore, if a student wants to achieve an average grade for the entire year, they must meet all the following conditions:
+ The average score of all subjects from 5.0 or higher;
+ Math, Literature, Foreign Language must have at least one subject with a score of 5.0 or higher;
+ No subject has an average score below 3.5;
+ Subjects evaluated by comments must achieve grade D.
Note: In the case of students in specialized classes of specialized high schools, an additional condition is the average score of the specialized subject must be 5.0 or higher.
