Conditions for Transferring Primary School Students
According to Clause 2, Article 1 of Circular 50/2012/TT-BGDDT amending the Primary School Charter, it is stipulated:
- Students of primary school age who need to transfer schools may transfer to a primary school at their place of residence or to a primary school outside their place of residence if the receiving school agrees, the dossier includes:
a) Application for school transfer from parents or guardians of the student;
b) School record book;
c) Copy of birth certificate;
d) Academic performance transcript (for cases of school transfer during the academic year).
- School transfer procedures:
a) Parents or guardians of the student submit a school transfer application to the receiving school;
b) Within 01 working day, the principal of the receiving school gives consent for acceptance on the application; if not agreed, the reasons must be clearly stated on the application and returned to the parents or guardians;
c) Parents or guardians of the student submit the application to the current school. Within 03 working days, the principal of the current school is responsible for issuing the student’s documents, including:
- Consent for school transfer;
- School record book;
- Copy of birth certificate;
- Academic performance transcript (for cases of school transfer during the academic year).
d) Parents or guardians of the student submit all documents as mentioned in clause 3 of this Article to the receiving school;
e) Within 01 working day, the principal of the receiving school accepts and places the student into a class.
=> Thus, according to the above regulations, primary school students must obtain the receiving school's consent to transfer schools.
