Can the Test be Cancelled and Retaken if 70% of the Class Scores Poorly on a 1 Period Test?
According to Article 16 of the Regulation on Evaluation and Classification of Junior High School and High School Students issued together with Circular 58/2011/TT-BGDDT, the case of being allowed to retake the test is stipulated as follows:
Students who are classified as having satisfactory conduct for the entire school year but whose academic performance is weak, are allowed to choose certain subjects from those subjects with an average annual score below 5.0 or with an unsatisfactory classification result to retake the test. The retest results will replace the annual classification results of that subject to recalculate the average annual score of all subjects and reclassify the academic performance; if they achieve a satisfactory level, they will be promoted to the next grade.
Therefore, when a student’s conduct is classified as satisfactory or higher but the academic performance is classified as weak, they are allowed to retake certain subjects with scores below 5.0 or subjects with unsatisfactory results for a retest.
Hence, when 70% of the class has poor scores on a 1-period test, the test cannot be canceled for a retake.
Sincerely!
