Can Students with Poor Conduct be Promoted to the Next Grade?
According to Article 15 of the Regulation on the Evaluation and Classification of Middle School and High School Students issued together with Circular 58/2011/TT-BGDDT, the conditions for being promoted to the next grade are as follows:
- Conduct and academic performance must be average or above;
- Absences must not exceed 45 days in a school year (whether excused or unexcused, consecutive or non-consecutive).
And does not fall into any of the following cases:
- Absent more than 45 days in a school year (whether excused or unexcused, consecutive or non-consecutive);
- Annual academic performance classified as Poor or both academic performance and conduct classified as Weak for the entire year;
- After retaking assessments for certain subjects which are graded by scores, if the average score is below 5.0 or if subjects graded by commentary are classified as Incomplete (ID), to reassess annual academic performance and still not achieve the average grade.
- Conduct for the whole year classified as Weak, but not completing the training tasks during the summer break results in still being classified as Weak in conduct.
Thus, if you do not complete the training tasks during the summer break and are still classified as having Weak conduct, you will not be promoted to the next grade.
Sincerely!
