Can students who are disciplined with a reprimand transfer to another school?
According to Clause 2, Article 9 of the Regulations on Regular University and College Training issued together with Decision 25/2006/QD-BGDDT, students are not allowed to transfer schools in the following cases:
- Students have taken the entrance exam but did not pass the exam or have lower exam scores than the admission scores of the school to which they wish to transfer in case of a common entrance exam;
- Students have permanent residence registration outside the admission area of the school to which they wish to transfer;
- First-year and final-year students;
- Students currently under disciplinary action from a warning level or higher.
However, according to Article 9 of the Regulations on Student Affairs for Regular University Training issued together with Circular 10/2016/TT-BGDDT, depending on the nature, severity, and consequences of the behavior, one of the following four disciplinary forms may be considered:
- Reprimand;
- Warning;
- Temporary suspension of studies;
- Expulsion.
According to this regulation, reprimand is the lightest disciplinary level, lower than a warning. Therefore, your child, receiving a reprimand, is still eligible to transfer schools if they meet the transfer conditions as regulated.
