Can a Certificate of Theory and Teaching Replace a Certificate of Pedagogical Skills?
Based on Point b, Clause 1, Article 72 of the Education Law 2019, the standard training level of educators is prescribed as follows:
Holders of a bachelor's degree in a teacher training program or higher for primary school, middle school, and high school teachers.
In cases where the subject does not have enough teachers with a bachelor's degree in a teacher training program, then the teacher must have a bachelor's degree in a suitable major and a certificate in pedagogical training.
According to the above regulation, individuals with a certificate in pedagogical training and a bachelor's degree in a suitable major can still become teachers.
However, currently there is no legal document that specifically states that a certificate in theory and teaching is equivalent to or can replace a certificate in pedagogical training. Therefore, you still have to obtain a certificate in pedagogical training in accordance with legal regulations.
Regarding the institutions providing the pedagogical training certificates:
Currently, the law does not specify a list of schools/entities that organize teaching and issuing of pedagogical training certificates. You can follow the information about pedagogical training certificate courses at pedagogy schools such as the Continuing Training and Education Center of Hanoi University of Education, the National Pedagogical Training Center, etc.
Sincerely!
