Are High School Students Required to Participate in Collective Activities Organized by the School?
Based on Clause 4, Article 34 of the Charter of secondary schools, high schools, and multi-level schools issued with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT, the duties of students are defined as follows:
Participate in collective activities of the school, the class, the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; assist the family, participate in labor and social activities, environmental protection activities, and traffic order and safety.
According to this regulation, participating in collective activities of the school is a duty of high school students. This is not an obligation for students, so they may choose not to participate.
However, participation in activities organized by the school is one of the bases for assessing and grading student conduct according to the regulations in Point a, Clause 1, Article 3 of the Regulations on Assessment and Grading of Secondary School and High School Students issued with Circular 58/2011/TT-BGDDT (specifically stipulated at Point e, Clause 1, Article 4 of this regulation).
Therefore, students should strive to participate in collective activities of the school and the class to train and improve themselves (except in cases where there are legitimate reasons for not being able to participate).
Sincerely!
