After graduating from university under the form of nomination, can a person choose a place to work in Vietnam?

Based on Article 12 of Decree 141/2020/ND-CP on recruitment and job placement for people who have completed their studies under the form of nomination as follows:

1. Annually, educational institutions send the list, hand over the profiles and diplomas of students under the form of nomination who have graduated to the provincial People's Committee.

2. The provincial People's Committee, based on the task requirements, job positions, number of workers, and the number of civil servant positions assigned to the job positions of officials and civil servants; based on job needs, job positions, number of workers assigned, professional title standards, salary fund of the public unit for the job positions of officials, and based on the profiles of students under the form of nomination who have graduated to develop a recruitment plan for civil servants and officials for students under the form of nomination.

3. The provincial People's Committee directs the organization of recruitment and job placement for students under the form of nomination after graduation according to the Government's regulations on recruitment, use, and management of civil servants; recruitment, use, and management of officials, or sends profiles to other units, organizations with labor recruitment needs with training qualifications suitable for job requirements.

4. The maximum waiting time for students under the form of nomination to be recruited and placed in a job is 12 months, from the date of receiving complete profiles for recruitment.

Therefore, your school sends the list, hands over your profile and diploma when you graduate to the provincial People's Committee, and the provincial People's Committee, based on the task requirements, job positions, number of employees, and the number of positions, arranges a job position for you. You cannot be selected to work at the schools on the list sent by the school.

What is the reception and assignment of tasks for students under the form of nomination at educational institutions under the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security in Vietnam?

Based on Article 13 of Decree 141/2020/ND-CP on the reception and assignment of tasks for students under the form of nomination at educational institutions under the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security as follows:

Students under the form of nomination fall into one of the following cases must reimburse scholarships, training costs:

1. Students voluntarily drop out or are disciplined to drop out, except for cases of voluntary dropout due to force majeure.

2. Students who do not comply with the recruitment and job placement after graduation commitment.

3. Students who work after graduation in a job position assigned by the provincial People's Committee for less than twice the time enjoyed scholarships and training costs.

4. Students who are disciplined to leave during the period of fulfilling work obligations under the mobilization.
