8 Years Old Still Allowed to Enroll in First Grade?
According to Clause 1, Article 1 of Circular 50/2012/TT-BGDDT (amending Article 40 of the Regulations on Primary Schools issued with Circular 41/2010/TT-BGDDT) stipulating the age of primary school students as follows:
- The age of primary school students ranges from six to fourteen years old (calculated by year).
- The age for entering first grade is six years old; children in economically and socially disadvantaged areas, ethnic minority children, orphans without support, children in households classified as poor according to State regulations, and children returning from abroad may enter first grade at the age of seven to nine years old; children with disabilities may enter first grade at the age of seven to fourteen years old.
According to this regulation, children with disabilities may enter first grade at the age of 07 to 14 years old. Thus, your disabled child may enter first grade when they are 8 years old.
