Penalties for Altered Translations That Cannot Be Clearly Identified
Pursuant to Point a Clause 1 Article 14 of Decree 82/2020/ND-CP, for the act of notarizing a translated document that has been altered and where the content cannot be clearly determined, the penalty can be up to 7,000,000 VND. To be specific:
“Article 14. Violations committed by notaries in the notarization of translations
A fine ranging from 3,000,000 VND to 7,000,000 VND shall be imposed for one of the following acts:
a) Notarizing a translation in cases where the original documents or texts required to be translated have been erased, altered, added to, subtracted from, or damaged, and where the content cannot be clearly determined;”
Thus, for the act of notarizing a translated document that has been altered and where the content cannot be clearly determined, the penalty can be up to 7 million VND.
