Is the Sale of Alcohol on the Internet Still Prohibited?
Previously, the act of selling alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content of 15 degrees or higher via the Internet was considered a violation of the laws on alcohol trading as stipulated in Clause 5, Article 7 of Decree 105/2017/ND-CP.
However, this regulation was abolished by Clause 2, Article 17 of Decree 17/2020/ND-CP.
At the same time, the regulation on penalties for the act of retailing alcoholic products via the Internet at Point a, Clause 3, Article 45 of Decree 185/2013/ND-CP (which ceased to be effective from October 15, 2020) was also abolished by Decree 98/2020/ND-CP.
Therefore, at the present time, websites like Tiki, Shopee, etc., selling alcoholic products online is no longer a prohibited act, provided they do not violate other applicable legal regulations during the transaction process, this activity is entirely permissible.
Sincerely!
