Is the Company Required to Organize Professional Skills Training Courses for Employees?
Section 2 Article 59 of the Labor Code 2019 stipulates vocational training and skill development as follows:
The State encourages employers who meet the conditions to provide vocational training and develop vocational skills for their employees and other workers in society through the following activities:
- Establish a vocational education institution or open vocational training classes at the workplace to train, retrain, foster, and improve the levels and skills of the employees; cooperate with vocational education institutions to train at elementary, intermediate, college levels, and other vocational training programs as stipulated;
- Organize skill competency exams for the employees; participate in the skill competency board; forecast demand and set skill competency standards; organize evaluation and recognition of skill competencies; develop professional capacities for employees.
According to the above regulation, the organization of vocational training by the employer is encouraged by the State but is not mandatory.
=> Therefore, your company is not required to organize vocational training in import-export for the employees. You may refer to your company's regulations on this matter.
Respectfully!
