Are household businesses required to display a name sign?
Clause 4, Article 37 of the 2020 Law on Enterprises stipulates the placing of enterprise nameplates as follows:
The enterprise name must be displayed at the enterprise's headquarters, branches, representative offices, and business locations. The enterprise name must be printed or written on transaction documents, files, and publications issued by the enterprise.
Accordingly, placing nameplates applies to the type of enterprise.
And Article 88 of Decree 01/2021/ND-CP stipulates the naming of household businesses as follows:
- A household business shall have its unique name. The name of the household business consists of two elements in the following order:
a) The phrase "Ho kinh doanh";
b) The unique name of the household business.
The unique name is written using letters of the Vietnamese alphabet, the letters F, J, Z, W, and may accompany numbers and symbols.
It is prohibited to use words or symbols that violate historical, cultural, ethical traditions, and customs of the nation to name the household business.
A household business cannot use the phrases "cong ty" or "doanh nghiep" to name the household business.
The unique name of the household business must not duplicate the unique name of registered household businesses within the same district.
Based on the aforementioned grounds, it can be concluded that hanging nameplates for household businesses is not mandatory.
Sincerely!
