Title: Is It Possible to Reissue a Lost Notary Public Card?
Clause 2 Article 36 of the Law on Notarization 2014 stipulates as follows:
“2. A notary shall be reissued a Notary Card in case the previously issued card is lost or damaged.
The Notary Card shall be revoked in cases where the notary is dismissed or deregistered from practicing.”
Therefore, your case will be eligible for reissuance of the Notary Card.
Clause 1 Article 6 Circular 06/2015/TT-BTP stipulates the dossier for applying for reissuance of the Notary Card as follows:
- A notary requesting reissuance of the Notary Card in accordance with Clause 2 Article 36 of the Law on Notarization shall submit directly or send via postal system 01 (one) set of documents to the Department of Justice where they are registered to practice.
The dossier includes the following documents:
- Application for reissuance of the Notary Card;
- 01 portrait photo size 2 cm x 3 cm (photo taken no more than 06 months before the date of submission).
Therefore, you need to prepare all the aforementioned documents and submit them directly or send them via postal system to the Department of Justice where you are registered to practice to apply for reissuance of the Notary Card.
The reissued Notary Card will retain the number of the previously issued card.
Sincerely!
