Notary Public Authorized to Authenticate Copies?
Article 77 of the Notarization Law 2014 stipulates:
Notaries have the authority to authenticate copies from originals, and authenticate signatures on documents and papers.
The authentication of copies from originals, and the authentication of signatures on documents and papers shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the law on authentication.
And according to Article 5 of Decree 23/2015/ND-CP:
Notaries have the authority and responsibility to authenticate the matters stipulated in Point a Clause 1, and Point b Clause 2 of this Article, sign the authentications, and affix the seal of the Notary Office or Notary Public Office (hereinafter referred to as notarial practice organizations).
Thus, according to this regulation, notaries are authorized to authenticate copies from originals.
