Based on Clause 5, Article 16 of the Charter of the Vietnam Bar Federation (Attached to Decision 856/QD-TTg in 2022), the following provisions apply:

Direct units of the Vietnam Bar Federation

5. Media outlets of the Association include:

a. The Vietnam Lawyer Magazine is a media outlet and forum for the Vietnamese legal community, conducting scientific research and publishing professional and technical guidelines for lawyers; established and operating in accordance with the provisions of the law on journalism and the Charter of the Vietnam Bar Federation; has a bank account and seal in accordance with the provisions of the law;

b. The Vietnam Bar Federation website publishes information about the organization and activities of the Federation and its members.

Therefore, in accordance with the above regulations, the Vietnam Lawyer Magazine is a media outlet and forum for the Vietnamese legal community under the Vietnam Bar Federation.

What are current direct units of the Vietnam Bar Federation?

Based on Article 16 of the Charter of the Vietnam Bar Federation (Attached to Decision 856/QD-TTg in 2022), the following provisions apply:

Direct units of the Vietnam Bar Federation

1. Establish a law school when qualified and approved by the competent state agency. The school has the task of organizing the training of lawyers; established and operating in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Lawyers, the law on education, training, and vocational training and the Charter of the Vietnam Bar Federation; has a bank account and seal in accordance with the provisions of the law.

2. The Vietnam Lawyer Training Center is a unit under the Association with the function of providing professional training, improving the level of legal knowledge, skills of practicing lawyers, lawyers' professional ethics and behavior for lawyers and other individuals in society; has a bank account and seal, independent accounting, responsible to the law and the Federation.

3. The Vietnam International Trade Lawyers Club has the function and task of gathering, promoting the expertise and resources of lawyers, law firms operating in the fields of investment, business, and trade with foreign elements, meeting the needs of legal consultancy and participating in litigation of issues related to international integration; has a bank account and seal, organized and operated in accordance with the provisions of the law, the Charter of the Vietnam Bar Federation and the Club's Regulations.

4. The Legal Aid Center of the Vietnam Bar Federation is established and operates in accordance with the provisions of the law on legal aid and the provisions of the Charter of the Vietnam Bar Federation; has a bank account and seal in accordance with the provisions of the law.

5. The Association's media outlets include:

a. The Vietnam Lawyer Magazine is a media outlet and forum for the Vietnamese legal community, conducting scientific research and publishing professional and technical guidelines for lawyers; established and operating in accordance with the provisions of the law on journalism and the Charter of the Vietnam Bar Federation; has a bank account and seal in accordance with the provisions of the law;

b. The Vietnam Bar Federation website publishes information about the organization and activities of the Association and its members.

6. A professional ethics committee for lawyers is established and operates in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the Vietnam Bar Federation. The establishment of other professional and technical committees in necessary cases shall be decided by the Standing Committee of the Federation and shall stipulate the organizational structure, tasks, and powers of these committees.

7. The Chairman of the Vietnam Bar Federation decides on the appointment, dismissal, and removal of the Heads and Deputy Heads of the direct units of the Association in accordance with the resolution of the Standing Committee of the Federation.

8. The establishment of other committees or units under the Federation is decided by the National Lawyers Council based on the provisions of this Charter and the provisions of the law, except in the case provided for in Clause 6 of this Article.

The above are the direct units of the Vietnam Bar Federation under the current regulations.
