Is an English Certificate Required for the Candidate Selection in the Lawyer Training Program for International Integration?
Based on Section 3 of the Outline Program for Training Lawyers to Serve International Integration (Attached to Decision 1711/QD-BTP of 2021), the regulations are as follows:
Candidates for the Training Program must meet the following conditions:
- ...
- Have a bachelor's degree in law or higher. For those who do not have a bachelor's degree in law but hold a bachelor's degree in another field and wish to participate in part or the entire training course to enhance their knowledge and proficiency, they may register as an auditor and will be issued a certificate of completion for the part or entire training course they participated in.
- Possess an English proficiency level equivalent to IELTS 5.0 or higher. The certificates or degrees proving English proficiency must be valid as of the date of application for the program. Exemptions from the initial English proficiency test will be decided by the training institution in accordance with legal regulations, educational goals, and the output standards of the Training Program.
Thus, in principle, an English proficiency level equivalent to IELTS 5.0 or higher is required. However, exemptions from the initial English proficiency test will be decided by the training institution.
Respectfully!
