How many points must be achieved in the notarial practice probation results in Vietnam?

Based on Article 24 of Circular No. 04/2015/TT-BTP regulating the scoring of examinations as follows:

1. Each examination is scored independently by two members of the Examination Board on a scale of 100 points.

The score of each examination is the average of the scores given by the two examiners. In cases where the two examiners' scores differ by 20 points or more, the Head of the Examination Board shall organize a third scoring for the candidate's examination; the score from this scoring is the official score of the examination. In cases where the two examiners' scores differ by 20 points or more, they must directly exchange to reach a consensus on the score under the supervision of the Head of the Examination Board; if no agreement is reached on the score, the Head of the Examination Board shall decide the official score for the examination.

2. Candidates who meet the examination requirements must score at least 50 points in each examination.

3. Within 15 days from the end of the scoring of the examination, the Chairman of the Examination Council is responsible for notifying the examination results to the Department of Justice and the Notary Public Association (in established locations) of the locality where the candidate participated in the examination, and sending the examination results to the Legal Support Department for publication on the Ministry of Justice's Electronic Information Portal.

Therefore, each examination result for the notarial practice probation must be at least 50 points to meet the examination requirements.

How long can the notarial practice probation results be appealed in Vietnam?

According to the regulations in Article 26 of Circular No. 04/2015/TT-BTP regarding the appeal of examination results as follows:

1. Within 15 days from the date the examination results are published on the Ministry of Justice's Electronic Information Portal, candidates who disagree with their examination results have the right to submit an appeal to the Chairman of the Examination Council.

No appeal for the examination of answers.

2. Within 15 days from the end of the deadline specified in paragraph 1 of this Article, the Chairman of the Examination Council shall decide to establish an Appeal Board. The Appeal Board consists of the Board Chairman and at least 02 (two) members. Members of the Examination Board are not allowed to be members of the Appeal Board.

3. The scoring of the appeal shall be conducted in accordance with the regulations in Article 24 of this Circular. The appeal results must be approved by the Chairman of the Examination Council and are final.

Therefore, candidates can appeal the examination results for the notarial practice probation within 15 days from when the examination results are published on the Ministry of Justice's Electronic Information Portal.
