How Many Points Are Needed to Pass the Lawyer Practicing Probationary Exam?
What is the minimum score required to pass the bar exam internship?
Based on Clause 6, Article 25 of Circular 10/2021/TT-BTP on grading exam results, it is prescribed as follows:
Candidates meet the requirements for the bar exam internship results if each test scores 50 points or more.
Within 15 days from the date the grading is completed, the Chairman of the Examination Council is responsible for announcing the exam results and notifying the Department of Justice and the Bar Association where the intern has participated in the examination.
Thus, candidates must score 50 points or more on each test for the bar exam internship results to be recognized as passing according to the above regulations.
What is the deadline to appeal the written bar exam internship results?
According to the provisions of Article 27 of Circular 10/2021/TT-BTP regarding the appeal of written exam results:
1. Within 15 days from the date of receiving the exam results, candidates who do not agree with their written exam results have the right to file an appeal addressed to the Chairman of the Examination Council.
Within 15 days from the expiration date for receiving appeal petitions, the Chairman of the Examination Council decides to establish an Appeal Committee. The Appeal Committee shall consist of at least 2 members. Persons who have participated in the Exam Identification Coding and Grading Committees are not allowed to join the Appeal Committee.
The method of conducting the grading appeal is applied according to the provisions of Article 25 of this Circular. In cases where there is a discrepancy of 10 points or more between the initial grading and the appeal grading, or a difference of 5 points but it is the boundary point between pass and fail, the Examination Council shall organize a direct dialogue between the initial graders and the appeal graders (recorded in writing) concerning the test papers with adjusted scores. The appeal score presented by the Head of the Appeal Committee and approved by the Chairman of the Examination Council is the official score of the examination.
The Examination Council announces the appeal results and notifies the person who filed the appeal, the Department of Justice, and the Bar Association where the person who filed the appeal is located.
Candidates who do not agree with their written exam results have the right to file an appeal addressed to the Chairman of the Examination Council within 15 days from the date of receiving the exam results.
