Contract for Car Rental Between Individuals: Is Notarization Required?

Based on the provisions of Article 472 of the Civil Code 2015:

A rental contract for property is an agreement between the parties, whereby the lessor delivers the property to the lessee for use within a specified period, and the lessee must pay the rent.

This regulation and other regulations regarding rental contracts do not contain any provisions mandating that rental contracts must be notarized.

Additionally, according to the provisions of the Notarization Law 2014, there is no requirement for a vehicle rental contract between two individuals to undergo notarization procedures.

Therefore, whether the contract is notarized or not will depend on the agreement between you and the vehicle renter. If both parties decide to notarize, the notarization practice organization will still carry out the notarization of the rental contract as requested by the parties.
