Types of Assets That an Open-Ended Fund Is Permitted to Invest In
According to Clause 2, Article 35 of Circular 98/2020/TT-BTC, the content is regulated as follows:
The types of assets the fund is allowed to invest in include:
- Deposits in commercial banks as stipulated by banking law;
- Money market instruments, including negotiable instruments, as regulated by law;
- Debt instruments of the Government of Vietnam, bonds guaranteed by the Government of Vietnam, and local government bonds;
- Listed stocks, registered trading stocks, bonds listed on the Stock Exchange, and public fund certificates;
- Stocks offered in the initial public offering, bonds offered to the public; privately placed corporate bonds issued by listed organizations with payment guarantees from credit institutions or repurchase commitments from the issuing organization at least once within 12 months and each repurchase commitment is for at least 30% of the issuance value;
- Listed derivatives traded on the Stock Exchange and solely for the purpose of hedging risks for the securities that the fund is holding;
- Rights attached to the securities that the fund is holding.
