Who is Equipped with Air Pistols?
According to Clause 5, Article 3:
Sporting weapons are weapons that are handcrafted or industrially manufactured, used for practicing and competing in sports, including:
+ Air rifles, explosive ammunition rifles, air pistols, explosive ammunition pistols, paintball sports guns, skeet shooting guns, and ammunition used for these types of guns;
+ Primitive weapons specified in Clause 4 of this Article used for practicing and competing in sports.
According to Clause 2, Article 3 of Circular 17/2018/TT-BCA regulations regarding entities authorized to be equipped with sporting weapons, including:
+ The People's Police training and sports competition center;
+ The People's Police academies and schools;
+ The People's Police training and professional development centers that conduct training and sports competitions.
Thus, air pistols are considered sporting weapons and may be issued to the People's Police training and sports competition centers; the People's Police academies and schools; and the People's Police training and professional development centers that conduct training and sports competitions.
