Pursuant to Article 33 of the Law on Emulation and Commendation 2022, the Orders include the following types:
- Order of the Golden Star
- Order of Ho Chi Minh
- Order of Independence First Class, Second Class, Third Class
- Order of Military Merit First Class, Second Class, Third Class
- Order of Labor First Class, Second Class, Third Class
- Order for National Defense First Class, Second Class, Third Class
- Order of Bravery First Class, Second Class, Third Class
- Order of the Great National Unity
- Order of Courage
- Order of Friendship

Who is awarded the Ho Chi Minh Order in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 35 of the Law on Emulation and Commendation 2022, the subjects awarded the Ho Chi Minh Order include:
[1] Individuals: Must comply well with the guidelines of the Communist Party, policies, and laws of the State and meet one of the following criteria:
- Have significant, especially outstanding merits in the revolutionary cause of the Communist Party, the nation
- Have many particularly outstanding achievements, with nationwide influence and exemplary presentation in one of the fields of politics, economy, society, culture, arts, science, technology, national defense, security, foreign affairs, or other fields
[2] Ministries, sectors, provinces, agencies of the National Assembly meeting the following criteria:
- Have been awarded the "Order of Independence" First Class or the "Order of Military Merit" First Class and thereafter have achieved continuous outstanding merits for 10 years or more up to the time of recommendation, with wide-ranging influence and featuring new exemplary factors for the country to learn from
- Have a long-standing tradition, significant contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Communist Party, the nation; internal unity; clean and strong party, mass organizations.
[3] Military zones, army corps, services, branches, general departments and equivalents under the Ministry of Defense, forces in the Public Security, general departments and equivalents under Ministries, sectors meeting the following criteria:
- Have been awarded the "Order of Independence" First Class or the "Order of Military Merit" First Class and thereafter have achieved continuous outstanding merits for 10 years or more up to the time of recommendation, with wide-ranging influence and featuring new exemplary factors for the country to learn from
- Have a long-standing tradition, significant contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Communist Party, the nation; internal unity; clean and strong party, mass organizations.
[4] Collectives that have been awarded the "Ho Chi Minh Order" and thereafter have achieved many outstanding achievements for 15 years or more up to the time of recommendation; internal unity; clean and strong party, mass organizations, shall be considered for awarding the "Ho Chi Minh Order" in subsequent times.
During this period, if awarded the "Order of Independence" First Class or "Order of Military Merit" First Class, the criteria for awarding the "Ho Chi Minh Order" in subsequent times shall be carried out as prescribed in clause 3 of this Article.
[5] Foreign individuals with significant contributions to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, recognized and recommended by Ministries, sectors.
What is the award for the Ho Chi Minh Order in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 55 of Decree 98/2023/ND-CP on the monetary reward for various types of Orders:
Article 55. Monetary reward for various types of Orders
- Individuals awarded or posthumously awarded Orders are given a certificate, frame, and Order accompanied by a monetary reward as follows:
a) "Order of the Golden Star": 46.0 times the statutory pay rate;
b) "Ho Chi Minh Order": 30.5 times the statutory pay rate;
c) "Order of Independence" First Class, "Order of Military Merit" First Class: 15.0 times the statutory pay rate;
d) "Order of Independence" Second Class, "Order of Military Merit" Second Class: 12.5 times the statutory pay rate;
dd) "Order of Independence" Third Class, "Order of Military Merit" Third Class: 10.5 times the statutory pay rate;
e) "Order of Labor" First Class, "Order of Bravery" First Class, "Order for National Defense First Class": 9.0 times the statutory pay rate;
g) "Order of Labor" Second Class, "Order of Bravery" Second Class, "Order for National Defense" Second Class, "Order of Great National Unity": 7.5 times the statutory pay rate;
h) "Order of Labor" Third Class, "Order of Bravery" Third Class, "Order for National Defense" Third Class, and "Order of Courage": 4.5 times the statutory pay rate.
- Collectives awarded Orders are given a certificate, frame, and Order accompanied by a monetary reward twice the amount specified for individuals in clause 1 of this Article.
The monetary reward accompanying the Ho Chi Minh Order is as follows:
- Individuals awarded or posthumously awarded the Ho Chi Minh Order are given a certificate, frame, and Order accompanied by a monetary reward of 30.5 x 2,340,000 = 71,370,000 VND.
- Collectives awarded the Ho Chi Minh Order are given a certificate, frame, and Order accompanied by a monetary reward twice the amount specified for individuals, which is 142,740,000 VND.
