Based on Article 34 of the 2022 Law on Emulation and Commendation on the "Gold Star Order":

Article 34. "Gold Star Order"

1. The "Gold Star Order" is the highest honor of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

2. The "Gold Star Order" is awarded or posthumously awarded to individuals who comply well with the guidelines of the Communist Party, policies, and laws of the State and meet one of the following criteria:

a) Having significant, especially outstanding contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Communist Party and the nation;

b) Having significant, especially outstanding contributions to the country in one of the fields of politics, economy, society, culture, arts, science, technology, defense, security, foreign relations, or other fields.

3. The "Gold Star Order" is awarded to Ministries, departments, sectors, provinces, agencies of the National Assembly that meet the following criteria:

a) Have been awarded the "Ho Chi Minh Order" and subsequently have continuously achieved many especially outstanding achievements for 25 years or more at the time of recommendation, having a wide-reaching influence and new exemplary factors for the whole country to study;

b) Have a long tradition, having significant contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Communist Party and the nation; internal solidarity; having strong and clean party and mass organizations.

What is the reward amount for the Golden Star Order in Vietnam?​

Based on Article 55 of Decree 98/2023/ND-CP on the reward amounts for various Orders:

Article 55. Reward amounts for various Orders

1. Individuals awarded or posthumously awarded various Orders receive a Certificate, a frame, and an Order, along with the following reward amounts:

a) "Gold Star Order": 46.0 times the statutory pay rate;

b) "Ho Chi Minh Order": 30.5 times the statutory pay rate;

c) "Independence Order" First Class, "Military Exploit Order" First Class: 15.0 times the statutory pay rate;

d) "Independence Order" Second Class, "Military Exploit Order" Second Class: 12.5 times the statutory pay rate;

dd) "Independence Order" Third Class, "Military Exploit Order" Third Class: 10.5 times the statutory pay rate;

e) "Labor Order" First Class, "Victory Order" First Class, "Order of Vanguard for National Defense" First Class: 9.0 times the statutory pay rate;

g) "Labor Order" Second Class, "Victory Order" Second Class, "Order of Vanguard for National Defense" Second Class, "Great National Unity Order": 7.5 times the statutory pay rate;

h) "Labor Order" Third Class, "Victory Order" Third Class, "Order of Vanguard for National Defense" Third Class, and "Order of Bravery": 4.5 times the statutory pay rate.

The reward amount accompanying the Gold Star Order is 46.0 times the statutory pay rate equivalent to 107,640,000 VND.

Note: The above reward amount applies to individuals. The reward amount for organizations is twice the reward amount for individuals, which is: (46.0 x 2) x 2,340,000 = 215,280,000 VND.

c) "Independence Order" First Class, Second Class, Third Class;

d) "Military Exploit Order" First Class, Second Class, Third Class;

dd) "Labor Order" First Class, Second Class, Third Class;
