Which Edge of the Document Should the Overlapping Seal Be Affixed To?
According to Clause 1, Article 33 of Decree 30/2020/ND-CP, the regulations on stamping affixation of documents are as follows:
- Stamps are affixed at the middle right margin of documents or document appendices, overlapping a part of the papers; each stamp covers a maximum of 05 sheets of the document.
=> Thus, according to the aforementioned regulation, when the affixation of stamps is performed, it should be affixed at the middle right margin of the document.
Additionally, the Decree also stipulates:
- Stamps must be clear, upright, correctly oriented and use the prescribed red stamp ink.
- When stamping over signatures, the stamp must overlap approximately 1/3 of the signature on the left side.
- For documents issued along with the main document or appendices: Stamps are affixed on the first page, overlapping a part of the name of the agency, organization or appendix title.
- The affixation of hanging stamps, affixed stamps, and embossed stamps on paper documents is regulated by the head of the agency or organization.
