What Military Rank Will Citizens Undertaking Police Service Hold?

According to Point b, Clause 1, Article 22 of the Law on People's Public Security 2018, subjects eligible for promotion ranks in the People's Public Security are specified as follows:

- Students enjoying activity fees at the People's Public Security schools, upon graduation, shall be conferred ranks as follows:

+ University graduates: Second Lieutenant;

+ Intermediate level graduates: Sergeant;

+ Students graduating with distinction shall be conferred ranks one level higher;

- Officials and public employees, or graduates from higher education institutions and vocational education institutions, recruited into the People's Public Security shall be conferred corresponding ranks based on their educational level, working process, assigned tasks, and salary grade.

- Conscription soldiers shall be conferred the starting rank of Private.

Therefore, upon registering for conscription participation and being selected, one shall be conferred the starting rank of Private.
