Article 8. Law Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam
November 9 each year is the Law Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Law Day is organized to honor the Constitution, laws, and to educate the sense of respect for the law among everyone in society.
The Government of Vietnam provides detailed regulations regarding this Article.
Thus, November 9 each year is the Law Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. According to the perpetual calendar, November 9, 2024 is on October 9, 2024, in the lunar calendar.
November 9 is organized to honor the Constitution, laws, and to educate the sense of respect for the law among everyone in society.

What contents are organized for the Law Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 6 of Decree 28/2013/ND-CP on the contents and forms of organizing Law Day:
Article 6. Contents and forms of organizing Law Day
- Law Day is organized with the following contents:
a) Affirming the position and role of the Constitution and laws in state management and social life;
b) Educating officials and public employees and citizens on the awareness of respecting and complying with the law; awareness of protecting the law; benefits of complying with the law;
c) Propagating and disseminating practical provisions of the Constitution and laws related to the lives of people, in connection with the functions and tasks of agencies and units;
d) Mobilizing people to strictly comply with the law;
dd) Commending and rewarding exemplary collectives and individuals in lawmaking, law enforcement, legal dissemination, and education, as well as good examples in law implementation;
e) Other contents as guided by the Ministry of Justice.
- Law Day can be organized in the following forms:
a) Meetings; seminars; discussions;
b) Law knowledge competitions;
c) Mobile law dissemination and public exhibitions;
d) Other forms as guided by the Ministry of Justice.
Thus, Law Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is organized with the following contents:
- Affirming the position and role of the Constitution and laws in state management and social life

Which agency is responsible for guiding the organization of Law Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 7 of Decree 28/2013/ND-CP on the responsibilities for guiding the contents and forms of organizing Law Day and the responsibilities of organizing Law Day:
Article 7. Responsibilities for guiding the contents, forms of organizing Law Day and responsibilities for organizing Law Day
- Responsibilities for guiding the contents, forms of organizing Law Day
a) Annually, the Ministry of Justice guides the contents and forms of organizing Law Day nationwide;
b) Based on the guidance for organizing Law Day by the Ministry of Justice, ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government of Vietnam, and People’s Committees at all levels guide the contents and forms of organizing Law Day; The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front guides the contents and forms of organizing Law Day for its member organizations.
- Responsibilities of organizing Law Day
a) Ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, heads of agencies under the Government of Vietnam, and chairpersons of People’s Committees at all levels are responsible for organizing Law Day;
b) The President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and heads of central agencies of member organizations of the Front, based on their functions and tasks, organize Law Day for their members.
Thus, the Ministry of Justice is responsible for guiding the organization of Law Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam nationwide.
