What is the salary of military officers in Vietnam from January 1, 2024, to June 30, 2024?
Based on Article 3 of Circular 41/2023/TT-BQP, which regulates the calculation of salaries, allowances, and subsidies:
Calculation of salaries, allowances, and subsidies
Statutory pay rate: 1,800,000 Vietnamese dong per month.
The calculation of salary, rank allowances, reserve coefficient differentials, and allowances and subsidies for the designated subjects mentioned in Article 2 of this Circular is as follows:
a) Salary
The salary implemented from July 1, 2023, is equal to the statutory pay rate of 1,800,000 Vietnamese dong per month multiplied by the current salary coefficient.

According to the above regulations, the statutory pay rate from July 1, 2023, is 1,700,000 Vietnamese dong. Therefore, the salary of military officers is currently determined using the following formula:
Salary = 1,800,000 Vietnamese dong per month x The salary coefficient.

Based on Article 4 of Circular 153/2017/TT-BQP, the annual leave regime for officers of the People's Army is as follows:
Annual Leave Regime:
1. Officers are entitled to annual leave as follows:
a) Less than 15 years of service: 20 days of leave.
b) From 15 years of service to less than 25 years of service: 25 days of leave.
c) 25 years of service and above 30 days of leave.
2. Officers stationed far from their families (spouse; biological or legally adopted children; parents from both the spouse's and the officer's side; legally recognized caregivers) are entitled to additional leave during their annual leave as follows:
a) 10 days for the following cases:
- Stationed more than 500 km away from the family.
- Stationed in deep, remote, or border areas more than 300 km away from the family.
- Stationed on islands belonging to the Truong Sa, DK archipelago.

Therefore, the annual leave regime for officers of the People's Army is as follows:
- Less than 15 years of service: 20 days of leave.
- From 15 years of service to less than 25 years of service: 25 days of leave.
- 25 years of service and above 30 days of leave.
In addition, military officers stationed far from their families (spouse; legitimate children, adopted children; parents; legally adopted individuals) in units that are distant from their homes are granted additional annual leave as follows:
- 10 days for the following cases:
+ Military stationed more than 500 km away from their families.
+ Military stationed in deep remote areas, border regions, more than 300 km away from their families.
+ Military stationed on islands belonging to the Truong Sa archipelago, DK.
- 05 days for the following cases:
+ Military stationed between 300 km and less than 500 km away from their families.
+ Military stationed in deep remote areas, border regions, more than 200 km away from their families with a regional coefficient of 0.5 or higher.
+ Military stationed on islands are entitled to regional allowances.

Based on Article 10 of Circular 153/2017/TT-BQP, the agency to handle the leave for officers is as follows:
Agency to Handle Leave for Officers:
1. The authority to handle the regulations specified in Articles 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 of this Circular is as follows:
a) Regiment commander, regiment political commissar, and equivalent positions have the authority to handle leave for subordinate officers.
b) Officers holding positions from regiment commander, regiment political commissar, and equivalent positions are directly decided by their commanding officers or superiors.
2. The authority to handle leave for officers preparing for retirement as specified in Clause 1 and Clause 2 of Article 9 of this Circular is implemented according to the Regulations on Official Work in the People's Army of Vietnam by the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Therefore, the agency to handle the leave for officers is as follows:
- Regiment commander, regiment political commissar, and equivalent positions have the authority to handle leave for subordinate officers.
- Officers holding positions from regiment commander, regiment political commissar, and equivalent positions are directly decided by their commanding officers or superiors.
- The authority to handle leave for officers preparing for retirement follows the Regulations on Official Work in the People's Army of Vietnam by the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
