- Duties:

+ Support lecturers (rank III), associate professors (rank II), and professors (rank I) in teaching activities, including: lesson preparation, tutoring, exercise guidance, discussions, experiments, practical training, and grading;

+ Study and improve theoretical knowledge, professional expertise, professional skills, and teaching methods; participate in practical activities to enhance the quality of education and scientific research;

+ Participate in management work, party and mass organization activities, and perform other tasks according to the organizational and operational regulations of public universities and other relevant legal provisions.

- Academic and traning qualifications:

Have a university degree or higher that is suitable for the position, field, or specialization of teaching.

- Standards for professional competence:

+  Master the basic knowledge of the assigned subjects for practical training, experiments, and internships, and have a general understanding of related subjects in the training field;

+ Understand and correctly implement the objectives, plans, content, and curriculum of the assigned subjects in the training field. Identify the practicality and development trends of training and research in the field both domestically and internationally;

+ Effectively and safely use teaching tools and equipment;

+ Have the ability to apply information technology and use foreign languages in carrying out the duties of an assistant lecturer (rank III).

What is the salary of assistant lecturers in Vietnam?

According to Article 10 of Circular 40/2020/TT-BGDDT, the salary classification is as follows:

- The professional titles of teaching staff specified in this Circular are applied with the professional salary scale for officials and civil servants in state career units (Table 3) issued together with Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP dated December 14, 2004, of the Government on the salary regime for officials, civil servants, public employees, and armed forces, specifically as follows:

+ The professional title of professor (rank I) is applied with the salary coefficient of grade A3, group 1 (A3.1) ranging from 6.20 to 8.00;

+ The professional title of associate professor (rank II) is applied with the salary coefficient of grade A2, group 1 (A2.1) ranging from 4.40 to 6.78;

+ The professional titles of lecturer (rank III) and assistant lecturer (rank III) are applied with the salary coefficient of grade A1, ranging from 2.34 to 4.98.

- The salary classification is implemented after being appointed to the specified professional titles according to the guidelines in Clause 1, Section II of Circular No. 02/2007/TT-BNV dated May 25, 2007, of the Ministry of Home Affairs on salary classification during promotion, job conversion, and job category conversion of officials and civil servants, following the current legal regulations.
