5. Requirements for civil servants who apply for promotion to the position of statistician 

The civil servant must be currently holding the position of statistician at the intermediate level and have at least 3 years of experience in the position of statistician at the intermediate level or equivalent (excluding the time of probation and trial), of which at least 1 year (12 months) must be continuously holding the position of statistician at the intermediate level as of the deadline for submitting the application for promotion.

Therefore, civil servants who apply for promotion to the position of statistician must meet the following requirements:

- The civil servant must be currently holding the position of statistician at the intermediate level and have at least 3 years of experience in the position of statistician at the intermediate level or equivalent (excluding the time of probation and trial).

- The civil servant must have at least 1 year (12 months) of continuous service in the position of statistician at the intermediate level as of the deadline for submitting the application for promotion.

What are tasks of statisticians in Vietnam?

According to Clause 2 Article 7 of Circular 08/2023/TT-BKHĐT stipulating tasks of statisticians in Vietnam as follows:

- Participate in the development of statistical survey plans, statistical reporting systems, and other statistical methods related to the assigned tasks.

- Directly collect or organize the collection of statistical information through statistical reports, statistical surveys, the exploitation of administrative registration records, and other forms related to statistical work.

- Process, summarize statistical information; compile reports, statistical yearbooks, and other statistical products in accordance with the specialty and field assigned.

- Disseminate, store, and systematize statistical information within the scope assigned.

- Implement guidance, monitoring, inspection, and urging organizations and individuals to provide statistical information in the specialty or field assigned in accordance with regulations;

- Participate in research topics in the specialty or field of statistics assigned.
