Pursuant to Clause 1, Article 29 of the Regulation on office work in the People's Court system issued together with Decision 01/QD-TANDTC in 2022, the regulations on the responsibilities of units and individuals in the agency for the submission of files and documents to the Archives of the agency are as follows:
- Units and individuals in the agency, before submitting the files and documents, are responsible for completing the files when the work is completed, compiling the file list; must submit the files with archival value to the current archives of the agency within the time limit specified in Clause 2 of this Article.
- In case the unit or individual needs to keep the files and documents that have reached the submission deadline, they must submit a list to the Archives of the agency, but the retention period is not more than 02 years. In case it is allowed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, the Chief Justice of the People's Court of Appeal, the Chief Justice of the People's Court of the province, or the district, the files and documents can be kept for longer but not more than 05 years and must be responsible for preserving the files and documents to serve the needs of the agency in accordance with the general regulations.
- Cadres, civil servants, and public employees, before retiring, resigning, or transferring to another position, must hand over the files and documents to the unit they are working for or the successor, and must not take the files and documents of the agency home or bring them to other units or agencies.

Time limit for submission to the current archives for documents belonging to the People's Court system in Vietnam
Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 29 of the Decision 01/QD-TANDTC in 2022, the time limit for submission to the current archives of the agency is specified as follows:
- Professional documents (case files): After the time limit for the Judgment, Decision to take legal effect and is not appealed, but not more than 06 months from the date the case file is resolved.
- Administrative documents: After one year from the year the work is completed.
- Scientific research documents, application of science and technology: After one year from the year the project is officially accepted.
- Construction documents: After three months from the date the project is settled.
- Photo, film, audio, video documents and other documents: After 03 months from the date the work is completed.
Procedures for submission of files and documents belonging to the People's Court system in Vietnam
Pursuant to Clause 3, Article 29 of the Decision 01/QD-TANDTC in 2022, the procedures for submitting files and documents is as follows:
When submitting files and documents, you must prepare 02 copies of the "File list and statistics" and 02 copies of the "File handover and receipt minutes". Units or individuals submitting files and documents to the current archives of the agency keep each type of 01 copy.
