What is the age eligible for renewal of citizen identity cards in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 21 of the Law on Citizen Identification in 2014 stipulating age eligible for renewal of citizen identity cards as follows:

1. A citizen identity card must be renewed when a citizen reaches full 25 years, full 40 years and full 60 years.
2. Citizen identity cards which are granted, renewed or re-granted within 2 years before a citizen reaches the age specified in Clause 1 of this Article remain to be valid until he/she reaches the subsequent age eligible for card renewal.

Personal identification number is a sequence of natural numbers consisting of 12 numbers including a structure of 6 numbers is the birth century code, the gender code, the citizen's year of birth code, the province code, the central-affiliated city or the country code where the citizen registered his birth and 6 numbers is a random number range.
As regulations above, the personal identification number includes:
- The first 03 digits: Code of the province, central-affiliated city where the citizen registered his birth/code of the country where the citizen registered his birth.
- Next 01 digit: Birth century code, gender code
- Next 02 digits: Year of birth code
- The last 6 digits are random numbers.

- Birth century code, gender code: The number corresponding to the gender and the century the citizen was born is applied as follows:
+ 20th century (from 1900 to the end of 1999): Male 0, female 1;
+ 21st century (from 2000 to the end of 2099): Male 2, Female 3;
+ 22nd century (from 2100 to the end of 2199): Male 4, female 5;
+ 23rd century (from 2200 to the end of 2299): Male 6, female 7;
+ 24th century (from 2300 to the end of 2399): Male 8, female 9.
- Year of birth code: Shows the last two digits of the citizen's year of birth.
