Using Birth Certificate or Household Registration for Issuing Marital Status Certification?
Based on Decision 1872/QD-BTP of 2020, which stipulates the detailed procedures for issuing the Certificate of Marital Status, the documents to be presented include:
- Passport, Identity Card, Citizen Identification Card, or other documents with a photo and personal information issued by a competent authority, still valid to prove the identity of the person requesting the Certificate of Marital Status.
- Documents proving the residence of the person requesting the Certificate of Marital Status to determine the competence (during the transitional period).
In case of submitting the application via the postal system, a certified copy of the documents mentioned above must be attached.
...
Thus, in the case where you are waiting for the Citizen Identification Card, it can be replaced with a Passport (if available) or other documents with a photo and personal information issued by a competent authority, still valid to prove identity. Examples include a driving license. However, you cannot use a birth certificate or household registration book for this purpose.
Respectfully!
