Section 5.3 of Guideline 01-HD/TW of 2021 stipulates how to calculate the Party membership age as follows:

5.3. Procedures and age calculation for Party members

- The Party membership age of a member is calculated from the date the competent authority signs the decision to admit the Party member. If there is no admission decision or the admission decision is not retained, the date recorded on the Party member's card will be used (in the case where a person has left the Party and was previously confirmed as a Party member, the age will not be recalculated according to this provision).

Section 18.1 of Guideline 01-HD/TW of 2021 stipulates the awarding of the Communist Party Badge as follows:

18. Awarding the Communist Party Badge

18.1. Party members with sufficient age of 30, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90 years are considered to be awarded the Communist Party Badge.

Party members who are seriously ill are considered for the early award of the 30, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65-year Party Badge, but the early consideration time must not exceed 12 months compared to the prescribed time; being considered for the early awarding of the 70, 75, 80, 85, 90-year Party Badge, but the early consideration time must not exceed 24 months compared to the prescribed time.

The Party membership age in this case is calculated from the date the decision to admit the Party member was signed, which is the official entry date into the Communist Party. Hence, your current Party membership age is 38 years and 5 months. Accordingly, in this case, you do not yet meet the conditions to be awarded the 40-year Communist Party Badge, and this situation does not qualify for early consideration.

When is the Communist Party Badge awarded?

If eligible to receive the Party Badge, the awarding will be carried out according to Section 18.4 of Guideline 01-HD/TW of 2021, specifically:

18.4. Awarding, using, and managing the Communist Party Badge

- The awarding of the Communist Party Badge is promptly organized on the occasion of the major anniversaries February 3, May 19, September 2, November 7, and other significant anniversaries at the grassroots Party organization. In special cases, the standing committee of the provincial Party committee will consider and decide.
