Stepfather Given a Suspended Sentence, Can the Child Join the Police Service?
Article 5 of the Decree 70/2019/ND-CP stipulates the criteria for selecting citizens to participate in the People's Public Security Service:
Citizens are selected to perform their obligations in the People's Public Security Service when they meet the following standards:
Have a clear background.
Strictly adhere to the guidelines and policies of the Communist Party, policies, and laws of the State; have no criminal record, not under criminal investigation, probation, not in the period of being subjected to educational measures at the commune, ward, commune-level town, or being sent to compulsory treatment facilities, compulsory education facilities; possess good qualities, ethics, and are trusted by the local populace in the place of residence, study, or work.
Ensure the political standards of non-commissioned officers, soldiers serving the policies of obligation in the People's Public Security Service.
Have a high school diploma or higher. In mountainous, island communes, ethnic minority regions, and areas with particularly challenging socio-economic conditions, citizens with a secondary school diploma can be recruited.
Have a balanced physique, no deformities or abnormalities, and meet health standards to fulfill the obligations of participating in the People's Public Security Service.
As a principle, to take the entrance exam to enter the public security school, the examinee's background must be clear, strictly comply with the state's laws, and meet other standards.
Accordingly, there is no regulation that if a stepfather is given a suspended sentence, the child would be ineligible to join the public security service.
Therefore, if you wish to participate in the public security service, you must meet the above conditions and proceed to submit the application as stipulated.
