Seizing War Trophies in the Military: What Disciplinary Actions Are Applied?
According to Article 29 of Circular 16/2020/TT-BQP, the disciplinary handling of the misappropriation of spoils of war is as follows:
- Misappropriating or destroying spoils of war but not to the extent of being criminally prosecuted will be disciplined with measures ranging from reprimand, warning to salary reduction, or demotion of rank.
- If one commits any of the following violations, disciplinary actions will range from demotion, dismissal, revocation of officer rank to deprivation of military title, and forced dismissal:
+ Being a commander or officer;
+ Having been disciplined and still violating;
+ Causing negative impact on the unit.
