Regulations on the responsibilities of the Standing Agency of the Steering Committee of Vietnam in crime prevention and control
Based on Article 8 of Decision 165/QD-BCD138/CP of 2020, the responsibilities of the Standing Agency of the Steering Committee of Vietnam are as follows:
- Advise and assist the Steering Committee in formulating strategic issues to effectively direct the prevention and fight against crimes; preventing and fighting human trafficking.
- Advise and assist the Steering Committee in building programs, implementation plans, tracking, inspecting, supervising, evaluating, aggregating, and compiling periodic and ad-hoc reports on the status and results of implementing the National Crime Prevention Strategy, the Human Trafficking Prevention Program, Directive No. 48-CT/TW, and Conclusion No. 05-KL/TW.
- Advise the Steering Committee in directing relevant agencies and forces in coordinating efforts against dangerous criminal gangs operating in multiple areas, severe and complex cases concerning security, economy, and social order to protect national security, ensure social order and safety, combat negative behaviors and corruption, and ensure the strict and unified enforcement of the law.
- Prepare the content, program, and all necessary conditions for meetings, conferences, workshops, training, inspections, surveys on crime prevention and human trafficking prevention, and other activities according to the program and plan of the Steering Committee.
- Maintain a close relationship between ministries and central authorities, related organizations, and individuals with the Steering Committee; ensure the activities of the Steering Committee are regular, practical, and effective. Carry out Joint Resolutions, Coordinated Action Programs signed with departments and organizations on crime prevention.
- Act as the focal point for international cooperation in crime prevention and human trafficking prevention following State and Ministry of Public Security regulations.
- Aggregate and propose commendations for collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in crime prevention and provide support policies for those harmed in terms of life, health, and property due to participation in crime prevention according to legal regulations.
- Develop budget allocation estimates and coordinate tracking and inspection of the management and use of funds for implementing the National Crime Prevention Strategy, the Human Trafficking Prevention Program, and other financial sources of the Steering Committee; advise and propose the budget assurance for the Steering Committee's activities.
- Implement policies on meetings, information, and reporting as specified in Articles 9 and 10 of this Regulation; perform other tasks as prescribed by law and tasks assigned by the Head, and Deputy Heads of the Steering Committee.
