Pursuant to Clause 3, Article 12 of Decree 72/2020/ND-CP, the regulations are as follows:
- The one-time allowance for full-time militiamen, upon being recognized for completing their active military service obligation during peacetime, for each year of service in the full-time militia unit is 2,980,000 VND. In cases of additional months served, the calculation is as follows: Less than 1 month is not eligible for the allowance; from 1 month to 6 months is eligible for an allowance of 1,490,000 VND; from 7 months to 11 months is eligible for an allowance of 2,980,000 VND.
Thus, according to the above regulation, for each year of service in the full-time militia unit, you will receive an allowance of 2,980,000 VND.
What are the benefits and policies for Militia and Self-Defense Forces when performing their duties?
According to Clause 1 Article 34 of the 2019 Law on Militia and Self-Defense Forces, the policies for militia when performing their duties are stipulated as follows:
a) For local militia, mobile militia, anti-aircraft militia, artillery, reconnaissance, communications, engineering, chemical defense, medical units, they are entitled to labor day allowances, meal allowances; they are entitled to provisions when performing duties from 22:00 to 06:00 the next morning, on rest days, public holidays, when undertaking heavy, hazardous, dangerous or especially heavy, hazardous, dangerous work as stipulated by labor law; they are entitled to additional labor day allowances if the duration of the obligation to participate in the Militia and Self-Defense Forces is extended.
When performing duties at sea, they are entitled to maritime-specific allowances; when performing duties far from their residence without the possibility of daily commuting, accommodation is provided, and transportation costs for one round trip are covered or reimbursed;
b) For sea militia, they are entitled to the benefits and policies specified at point a of this clause; when performing duties to defend islands and sea areas, they are entitled to labor day allowances, additional meal allowances; if they are captains or chief engineers, they are entitled to responsibility allowances calculated based on actual days at sea;
c) For full-time militia, they are entitled to the benefits and policies specified at point a of this clause; they are entitled to a one-time allowance upon being recognized for completing their active military service obligation during peacetime; they are entitled to social insurance benefits and health insurance like non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army on active duty; their food and accommodation are provided for.
