Police Officers Who Do Not Complete Their Duties: Is Their Salary Increment Period Extended?

Police workers who fail to complete their tasks, will their salary grade increase period be extended? What types of allowances and subsidies do police workers receive? I am currently a police worker and have not completed the assigned tasks recently; will my salary grade increase period be extended?

Do police workers not completing tasks have their salary rise period extended?

Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 9 of Decree 49/2019/ND-CP regulating salary increases and promotions for police workers as follows:

a) Police workers who complete assigned tasks, meet the technical rank standards, and have not yet reached the final salary rank in the grade are considered for regular salary increases every 2 years (a full 24 months) for those with a salary coefficient of 3.95 or below, and every 3 years (a full 36 months) for those with a salary coefficient above 3.95.

During the salary increase consideration period, if tasks are not completed or a disciplinary warning is issued, the salary rise period will be extended by 06 months; if disciplined from the level of reprimand or higher, the salary rise period is extended by 12 months.

In cases of exceptional task performance, an early salary increase of up to 12 months or a rank leap may be granted;

b) Police workers who complete tasks well or excellently, have the capability to undertake higher positions within the same specialized technical field, and possess suitable qualifications are considered for promotion.

Thus, according to the above regulations, if during the salary increase consideration period you do not complete the tasks, the salary rise period will be extended by 06 months.

What allowances and benefits do police workers receive?

According to Clause 4, Article, police workers are entitled to the following allowances and benefits:

a) Seniority exceeding frame allowance;

b) Regional allowance;

c) Special allowance;

d) Hazardous and dangerous allowance;

dd) Job responsibility allowance;

The conditions, duration, and levels of enjoyment of the allowances mentioned in points a, b, c, d, and dd of this clause are implemented as regulated in Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP dated December 14, 2004, of the Government of Vietnam on salary policies for officials and public employees and the armed forces.

e) Duty allowance:

- Applicable to police workers receiving salaries from the state budget;- The conditions, duration, and levels of the duty allowance are implemented as regulated in Decree No. 34/2012/ND-CP dated April 15, 2012, of the Government of Vietnam on duty allowance policies.

g) Allowances and benefits for work in areas with exceptionally difficult economic and social conditions:

The conditions, duration, and levels of enjoyment are implemented as regulated in Decree No. 116/2010/ND-CP dated December 24, 2010, of the Government of Vietnam on policies for officials and public employees and salary recipients in the armed forces working in areas with exceptionally difficult economic and social conditions.
