Where Should the Red Seal be Placed on the Signature in Administrative Documents?
Article 33 of Decree 30/2020/ND-CP provides regulations on the use of seals and secret key storage devices as follows:
- Use of Seals
a) The seal must be clear, upright, properly oriented, and use the correct red ink as stipulated.
b) When placing the seal on a signature, the seal must cover approximately one-third of the signature on the left side.
c) For documents issued along with the main document or annexes: The seal is placed on the first page, covering part of the name of the agency, organization, or annex title.
d) The placement of suspended seals, overlapping seals, and embossed seals on paper documents is determined by the head of the agency or organization.
e) Overlapping seals are placed in the middle right edge of the document or annex, covering part of the sheets of paper; each seal covers a maximum of 5 sheets of the document.
- Use of Secret Key Storage Devices
The secret key storage device of the agency or organization is used to digitally sign electronic documents issued by the agency or organization and to digitize hard copy documents.
According to current regulations, when placing the seal on the signature of an administrative document, the seal must cover approximately one-third of the signature on the left side.
Which Agency is Responsible for Managing the Seal?
Article 32 of Decree 30/2020/ND-CP provides regulations on the management of seals as follows:
- The head of the agency or organization is responsible for assigning the office clerk to manage and use the seal and the secret key storage device of the agency or organization as stipulated.
