Medical Examination Period for Military Service Obligation in 2021

Based on the 2015 Law on Military Service, it is stipulated that:

In April each year, the Chief of the District Level Military Command issues an order to call citizens specified in Clause 1 of this Article to register for military service for the first time (Clause 2, Article 16).

The health examination period is from November 1 to December 31 each year. The health examination period for calling citizens to enlist and perform their obligation to join the People's Public Security for the second time as stipulated in Article 33 of this Law is decided by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam (Clause 4, Article 40).

Every year, citizens are called to enlist and perform their obligation to join the People's Public Security once in February or March; in necessary cases due to national defense and security reasons, citizens may be called to enlist and perform their obligation to join the People's Public Security for the second time. For localities with disasters or dangerous epidemics, the time for calling citizens to enlist and perform their obligation to join the People's Public Security can be adjusted (Article 33).

Thus, the time for registering for military service for the first time is in April each year; the health examination period is from November 1 to December 31 each year. Citizens are called to enlist once in February or March each year.
