Is There an Age Limit for Village Chiefs?
At Article 11 of Circular 04/2012/TT-BNV, the standards for village heads and heads of residential groups are stipulated as follows:
- Individuals with permanent household registration and regular residence in the village or residential group;
- At least 21 years of age, in good health, enthusiastic, and having a sense of responsibility in their work;
- Possessing good political and ethical qualities, trusted by the people; being exemplary themselves and with their families in implementing the guidelines and policies of the Communist Party, policies, and laws of the State, and local regulations;
- Having cultural knowledge, capability, experience, and methods to mobilize and organize the people to effectively carry out self-management tasks of the residential community and tasks assigned by higher authorities.
=> Accordingly, the above regulation sets a minimum age limit for someone to become a village head, but it does not impose a maximum age limit for this position.
Sincerely!
