Is military service required if biting capability is approximately 75%?
Based on Appendix 1 Classification of health according to physique and disease issued together with Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP, stipulating:
20: Tooth loss:
- Tooth loss with prosthetic replacements ensuring function and aesthetics: Score 2
- Loss of ≤ 3 teeth, including 1 molar or incisor, with chewing ability remaining at 85% or higher: Score 2
- Loss of 4 teeth, including ≤ 2 molars or incisors, with chewing ability remaining at 70% or higher: Score 3
According to the provisions of Clause 4, Article 9 of Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP, the classification of the health of citizens undergoing military service medical examination is based on the scores of 8 criteria recorded on the military service health form. Specifically:
- Grade 1: All 8 criteria scored 1;
- Grade 2: At least 1 criterion scored 2;
- Grade 3: At least 1 criterion scored 3;
- Grade 4: At least 1 criterion scored 4;
- Grade 5: At least 1 criterion scored 5;
- Grade 6: At least 1 criterion scored 6.
Therefore, in your case, if you have lost some teeth and your chewing ability is still 75%, it can be determined that you have grade 3 health.
And Point a, Clause 3, Article 4 of Circular 148/2018/TT-BQP stipulates the health standards for military recruitment as follows:
Selecting citizens with health classification grades 1, 2, or 3 according to the regulations of Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP dated June 30, 2016 of the Minister of Health and the Minister of National Defense on medical examination for military service.
From the above regulations, in your case, if it is determined that you have grade 3 health, you still meet the health conditions for participating in military service.
Respectfully!
